I'm guessing this (And Disintergration) are Disc/Julians with some sort of Cell-style FXForm?

Nonetheless, very shmexy :D

No disc, no julian and no cell. :D This can't be done with the existing set of plugins. I wrote a couple plugins specifically for this style.

It does use rings2, but with additional variations that I created to get the final fractal. You can't do this without creating the same variations that I made to do this :D

I love the way a repetitious square pattern can compose a circular shape. Just to fit in with everyone else I'll say I hate it. :+fav:

Joel - why would anyone hate this image??? I think it's great, very complicated and what I find interesting is that you carefully developed this image. Now that is amazing. Wish I knew how to do scripts that well, or fully understood the math to be able to write the scripts to do exactly what I wanted them to do. Fits in with the current discussion going on APO list regarding fully understanding math formulae to that extent. Totally amazing what you created here...

Thanks Anna. The comment "I hope you hate it" is just a joke... this is one of my personal favourites :D

I didn't write scripts to do this. Scripting is different. Scripting allows you to perform actions programmatically that you would otherwise need to do in the editor. I modified the source code and made variations (julia, spherical, etc are variations).

Hi Joel -
Just now checking on my msgs here at deviant. I sort of guessed "I hope you hate it" was a joke, lol. But, nonetheless, I'm totally amazed at what you create. Regarding your explanation of "scripts", I never thought about that, but I do know this, I really don't like using scripts as I find myself eliminating variations, transforms when I do try a posted script - same thing for parms that are posted. First, I am a working artist, deg in Fine Art, and I have this thing about "original artwork". I truly respect others work and their effort and copyright law. I copyright my work. With posted parms, I just look at variables/variations and then bring up a blank page and experiment from scratch to see what I can come up with. I see some really beautiful, complicated images and go, "Wow, wish I'd done that!" - lol. But everyone has "their style" and what you, Michael, Wickstar, et al may do, while beautiful, is not my style. I do wish I remembered my programming classes I took back in mainframe time - then when I look at APO source code I could do something other than go "OOOKAYYYYY" - lol. I even asked DH -a programmer, dba person- about Apo's code and he just shakes his head - now mind you, he just MIGHT understand it, but he doesn't want to get bogged down with me and my desire to be able to write code - I think him setting up my website{still not fully active} was enough "togetherness" in the techno computer world. lol. In closing here, I really appreciate the images you create - especially the Escher looking stuff. Keep on inspiring we mortals here. artfully speaking, fractalista

:) Thanks Anna! I totally agree with out about sharing parameters and scripts. Pushing a button in the scripter isn't creating art because there is nothing creative about it. My wish is that people would share ideas in words rather than scripts/params so people have to do exactly what you do -- start from scratch and really learn the new techniques!

All the best to you in your career! I hope to see some art in your gallery soon! ;)

I wrote a couple variations to get this effect. Many of my later fractals use variations that I've tailored to get the desired effects.

Thanks for the :+fav:s and comments! I'm glad you like my fractals!
