I used a program called Apophysis. You can download it from here: [link]

Apophysis is an open source program. I've modified the source code a bit to make this particular fractal. I'll be releasing my custom version of Apophysis soon.

Thanks for faving and putting it on your desktop :D

Great work here Joel, i'm glad I witnessed this series, because it was some of the best Apophysis work i've seen.

Nice color usage here, usually i'm not too fond of green, but it really works here.

Portal and Descent are from a custom version not a test version. I'll make a journal when it's ready (that is after I stop playing with it and actually finish it) :)

Thanks!

OIC....Cool, Now stop playing and finish it....lol From what I seen from you and your brothers renders, I'm looking more foward to yours than Zueuk's.

Yea! the best thing I seen so far coming from his is the fact about the ram usage being cut down so much. But the only extra variation (that I am aware of anyway) is the radial blur, which is cool I guess, but I've seen enough blur.

PS...Keep me in mind if ya ever need a tester :)

Gaussian_blur and radial_blur so far. The multithreading code is being improved too which should speed things up if you have a dual core, hyperthreaded or dual processor computer.

Testing variations isn't very difficult and managing multiple testers would be more work. Thanks for offering though :)

LOL another blur. Gygrazok has a few more variations like blade and so on that blurs. So that part I'm not thrilled about. I do have HT so I'm happy for that part.

The two things I saw so far that I liked about yours is simply in your last couple uploads (which looks like a possible blur variation) and the image insert that I seen in one of your brothers images. Very good work. Not just on the renders but on the hacks as well.

On the PS... I know....lol Just trying for an advanced copy...lmao.
Can't blame a guy for trying :)

The triangular and square desktops are very similar to the round one except they have a different final transform. NGon is very similar to spherical except it warps into polygon shapes (and more). It is very cool! *slobo777 came up with the math behind it.

You're not the first one who's asked :) About the 6th or 7th probably ;)

Hey, what's going on with the *Apophysis group? Is it still alive?
