Sure wish you could figure out how to do a script for these. I really love the detail and the design. Very unique.

that is way cool!

why do you render with flam3, if you have apophysis?

I use Linux :tux:. To run Windows programs like Apophysis I use Wine (winehq.com). Wine uses too much memory when rendering so I use flam3 instead.

Glad you like this, and thanks for the :+devwatch:!

oh. Thanks for the explaining. I have Mac, I can only use the GIMP plugin and flam3. I have used flam3 from time to time, but it is really inconvenient because of the missing GUI. I envy Apophysis User! I am too lazy and too broke to install Windows on my Mac.

I didn't know flam3 could do tiles. I would love to be able to that!

I first learned about Apophysis after using The Gimp plugin. Without that, my brother, *MichaelFaber, and I wouldn't be here! The Gimp plugin and flam3 only allow for mutations, which are essentially random changes in the parameters. Apophysis has an editor which allows for very finely tuned parameter files. I use this to do Tiling, and all my flames for that matter. If you have an Intel Mac you can use a port of Wine called Darwine to run Apophysis. [link]

If you do get Apopysis running on your machine, be sure to check out *2B2H's Apophysis Tutorial here: [link]

All the best,
Joel

Wow. I'm blown away by the level of detail here; the preview doesn't do this piece justice. You ought to consider putting a Full View Please sign of some sort in its place.

You don't need a very new version of Apophysis to make this flame. If you want the latest (and greatest) version you can download it at [link]
